The diptyque story began in Paris at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain (as it can be read at their candles) with, at its heart, three friends: Christiane Gautrot was an interior designer, Desmond Knox-Leet, a painter, and Yves Coueslant, a theater director and set designer.

La historia de esta marca comienza en París, en el nº 34 del boulevard Saint-Germain (como se puede leer en sus velas). Fueron tres amigos los que la fundaron: Christiane Gautrot, interioristas; Desmond Knox-Leet, pintor, e Yves Couseslant, director teatral y diseñador.
